| Aptos Tide 99 - U11 Boys
|
| Head Coach: Kevin Jeffery |
|
The Aptos Tide 99 is a competitive soccer team dedicated to helping its players continuously develop their skills and tactical abilities, grow together as teammates, build a life-long passion for the game of soccer, and have a blast while doing it. The coaching philosophy is guided by Positive Coaching Alliance principles.
Tide 99 will hold open tryouts on April 17 and April 25, 2010 for spots
on its 2010-2011 roster. Boys interested in trying out for Tide 99 must
have been born on or after August 1, 1999 and possess athletic ability, a
willingness to work hard, and a desire to learn, improve and have fun in a
team-oriented environment. In addition, they and their families must be
committed to respect for others and positive sportsmanship.

| Schedule Information |
| May-August | During the summer (May-Aug), we train once a week and participate in several team-building activities (last year included beach soccer, other pick-up soccer games, a pool party, BBQs, and watching high-level soccer matches together). We finish our summer schedule with a one-week training camp in August. In 2010 we are likely to play in two summer tournaments.
|
| Sept.-Nov. | We play our primary season in the fall (Sep-Nov), which consists of 10 league games and two tournaments. Five of the ten games are played in Aptos, another game or two will be played in Santa Cruz County, and the remaining games and both tournaments will be played over the hill or in the Morgan Hill to Salinas area.
|
| Jan.-Feb. | In the winter (Jan-Feb), several members of the team play indoor soccer in Watsonville. And during the spring, many Tide 99 players stay involved together in scrimmages and other informal soccer-related activities.
